[ Carrot Seed Oil ]
My new product! This facial oil took months of research and experimenting to formulate, and I’m so glad I can finally release it. Our formula isn’t ingredient heavy, but is packed with amazing skin benefits. The main ingredients in this formula are Red Raspberry Seed Oil, and Carrot Seed Oil. Both oils used are cold-pressed and sourced from well trusted manufacturers.
I know we’ve all heard carrots can help us see in the dark- but have y’all ever been told about what they can do for your face?! Lemme hit you with some facts real quick. Daucus Carota (Carrot) seed oil, mostly obtained from European countries, is made from cold-pressing the dried seeds of the Wild Carrot.
The most thoroughly researched quality of Carrot seed oil is its ability to kill certain bacteria and fungi. Below are just some types of bacteria and fungi that seem to be affected by it the most, and research to support the claims.
Salmonella - Bacteria responsible for millions of foodborne illnesses around the world.
Dermatophytes - infections caused by this fungi typically affect the hair, skin and nails.
E Coli - From Cellulitis to UTI's, this bacteria is a motherf*&@$.
In addition to it's antifungal and antibacterial properties, Carrot seed oil is packed full of antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the skin from free radical damage. A study [Singh et. al ] that analyzed the antioxidant properties of Carrot seed oil, suggests it has "sufficient potential" to be used in cosmetics as anti-ageing preparations. Many scientists believe the oils ability to rejuvenate the look and feel of your skin is due to one of its primary components, Carotol. Carrot seed oil may also be used to remove hyperpigmentation due to its high-beta 'Carotene', which hinders the melanin producing enzyme, tyrosinase.
As well as protecting your skin, Carrot Seed oil is non comedogenic, meaning it won't clog your pores, and makes for an amazing moisturising agent for dry and oily skin! According to a study published in “Pharmacognosy Magazine”, products containing carrot seed oil have a natural SPF of between 38 and 40. In conjunction with its amazing antioxidant properties, this can make for a great addition to your skin routine and may protect you from harmful UV rays from the Sun.
Overall, Carrot seed oil is the one for you if you're looking to retexture, protect and revitalise your skin. So if you're not already using it like the rest of us- Get on the winning team!
